A federal judge on Monday declined to block the Trump administration’s closure of a golf course where construction crews have deposited debris from the White House renovation. The Trump administration is currently attempting to build a ballroom on the White House grounds and has already demolished the East Wing to that end. The project has spawned legal challenges, including the Monday case in which two golfers and the DC Preservation League objected to the closure of East Potomac Golf Links, The Hill reported.
U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes indicated that the existing reports did not warrant her intervention. She further made a reference to a popular sitcom, saying “I don’t want to be the overseer of Parks and Rec. I’m no Amy Poehler.”
Amy Poehler starred in “Parks and Recreation” as Lesley Knope, a busybody and enthusiastic employee of the local, eponymous department.
