    Iran war cost $25 billion so far, Pentagon official testifies

    Acting Pentagon Comptroller Jules Hurst III, who testified before the House Armed Services Committee on Wednesday, said that the price tag for Operation Epic Fury, the name of the U.S. conflict with Iran, is as of now $25 billion. Those costs include munitions, operations, maintenance and equipment replacements, Hurst said, NBC reported. 
    Hurst testified at the House Armed Services Committee hearing alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Dan Caine.
    Rep. Adam Smith, D-Wash., asked whether the Department of War would seek supplemental funding in support of the conflict in Iran. Hurst said the department is assessing the cost through the White House, and that will come to Congress once that full assessment is complete. 
    In March, Pentagon officials told Congress that the war cost $11.3 billion in its first six days.
