Baylor University in Waco, Texas, on Wednesday night changed its Turning Point USA event so that only students could attend the rally, while other students held a pro-LGBTQ “All Are Neighbors” event. The Turning Point USA event was scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Eastern and featured Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and border czar Tom Homan.
The event was also expected to air on different news channels, but the school closed the event to the media and the public.
Baylor University, a private Christian school in Waco, Texas, said the changes were made because both events were expected to draw large crowds. The school also increased security on campus and said it was monitoring both events, according to CBS News.
The “All Are Neighbors” event was hosted by Baylor College Democrats, the NAACP, and other student groups, while President of the Human Rights Campaign Kelley Robinson was expected to speak.
