Melania Trump will attend the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner this week in a rare public event for the first lady. This week’s event will mark the first time that Melania Trump has attended the event, The Hill reported. The dinner is an annual formal event that brings together the top journalists covering the White House, as well as myriad lawmakers.
The first lady has generally eschewed public events this term, though she has made some public appearances and public statements. She was most recently in the news for a public statement she issued in which she denied maintaining a friendship with the late Jeffrey Epstein and urged his accusers to testify publicly.
Throughout Trump’s second term, she has also been an advocate for Ukrainian children separated from their families by the Russian invasion and has worked with Moscow and Kyiv to help reunite families.
