CNN host Anderson Cooper was visibly stunned when his guest expressed sympathy for Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA).
Since the emergence of sexual harassment/assault allegations against Swalwell, there has been a whirlwind of activity. He denied everything at first, then he dropped out of the California gubernatorial race. The next step was to resign from his current seat in the House while maintaining that the most serious allegations, in which he allegedly sexually assaulted a staffer while she was intoxicated, were untrue. Even his own “best friend” appears to have turned on him, but at least he has the sympathy of former Trump White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci.
