The crew of the Artemis II has successfully splashed down in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego after their historic flyby mission around the moon. On this 250th anniversary of America, this mission has set in motion a new age in space. Next step will be to build a base on the moon that will support human life, followed by using this as a slingshot to go to Mars.
The crew — Cmdr. Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Koch and Canadian Space Agency mission specialist Jeremy Hansen — embarked on this mission around the moon on April 1, the first crewed journey to the moon in more than 50 years.
