The Malaysian purple-femur tarantula inhabits easily recognizable silk-sealed burrows in a hilly area of Malaysia that covers around 10 square miles, making it an easy target for poachers.
WASHINGTON (CN) — The Center for Biological Diversity petitioned the federal government Tuesday in hopes of protecting a Malaysian tarantula from the illegal exotic pet trade industry.
