A Texas man was released from jail over the weekend after he was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon last week following his appearance at a school where he was clad in tactical gear.Kyle Najm Chris, who was born in Iraq but became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2022, showed up at Zwink Elementary School in Spring, Texas, last Tuesday and walked into the front office with a load-bearing vest, a taser, and a holstered firearm, according to the Daily Wire.
Chris, who has a private investigator license and a Texas concealed handgun license, allegedly questioned the staff about the security at the school and declined to provide ID to school officials. He had no known connection to the school.
Chris was reportedly arrested for possessing the “prohibited weapon” on Wednesday and charged with the third-degree felony but posted his $75,000 bail on Sunday. He is still required to be on 24-hour house arrest with a GPS monitor and is banned from going near any school property in the Klein school district.
The arrest comes amid a string of terror attacks in the United States that have allegedly been caused by naturalized citizens, including a shooting at Old Dominion University in Virginia last week, where a naturalized citizen from Sierra Leone allegedly killed one U.S. service member.
