United States Central Command said Monday that approximately 200 American servicemembers have been injured in the Iran conflict so far, but that 180 of them have already returned to work. The U.S. and Israel began a weeks-long conflict against Iran late last month, which resulted in the death of former Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran has retaliated by hitting U.S. bases in the Middle East and attacking Israel.
A CENTCOM spokesperson told The Hill that the majority of the injuries have been minor and 13 people have been killed in Operation Epic Fury, after six were killed when a refueling plane went down in western Iraq last week.
CENTCOM also said the U.S. has struck over 7,000 targets inside Iran and damaged or sunk more than 100 Iranian vessels in Operation Epic Fury as of Monday.
