George Mason University closed the Fenwick library on its Fairfax, Va., campus on Friday due to a bomb threat.”The Fenwick Library on the Fairfax campus is closed until further notice to allow University Police to investigate a potential bomb threat,” the school confirmed in a system-wide alert. “Please leave the Fenwick Library and stay away from the area. This threat has not been confirmed.”
“An investigation is being conducted out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of public safety. Please follow the direction of law enforcement and/or emergency personnel,” it continued.
The bomb threat followed a shooting at Old Dominion University on Thursday. That incident saw a gunman, identified as Mohamed Jalloh, who was previously convicted of aiding ISIS.
