Voters in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District are heading to the polls on Tuesday to elect a replacement for former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., who left office amid a high-profile break with President Donald Trump, whom she accused of reneging on his major campaign promises. The race includes a total of 22 candidates across both parties, including independents, according to Ballotpedia. The district’s heavily Republican leaning, however, put Republicans, Shawn Harris, Clayton Fuller, Nicky Lama, Colton Moore, and Brian Stover at the top of the pack.
Republicans currently hold a razor-thin majority in the House, made even smaller by Rep. Kevin Kiley’s decision to become an independent this week. The election of a Republican from Georgia will likely help to tip the scales in House Speaker Mike Johnson’s favor on key votes.
