President Donald Trump on Friday offered praise for Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his efforts to get American citizens out of the gulf states amid the war with Iran.”We are moving thousands of people out of various Countries throughout the Middle East. It is being done quietly, but seamlessly. The State Department, under Secretary Marco Rubio, is doing a great job!” he posted on Truth Social.
The State Department has returned an estimated 20,000 Americans to the home country since the start of the conflict, though the total number of Americans in the region remains unknown.
Trump launched joint strikes with Israel against Iran last week, leading to the wider conflict that has drawn in the Gulf States and most of the Middle East.
