President Donald Trump is reportedly seeking replacements for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in the wake of a congressional hearing in which she faced scrutiny from both sides of the political aisle. The Wall Street Journal reported on the search for a replacement and linked the development to Noem telling lawmakers that he had signed off on a $200 million ad campaign featuring herself.
The White House did not comment to the WSJ, while the DHS only stated that “Secretary Noem serves at the pleasure of the President.”
Trump’s Cabinet has remained relatively stable compared to his first term, which saw multiple senior Cabinet officials turn over in the first two years. Multiple Cabinet officials, however, have faced calls for their resignations, including Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Attorney General Pam Bondi.
