A suspected Iranian drone strike Monday hit the CIA’s station at the United States’ embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The CIA’s station is located on the embassy’s top floor. The CIA has not confirmed the strike to the Washington Post but the strike reportedly caused part of the roof to collapse. The extent of the damage was not immediately clear.
The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh came under attack again Tuesday, according to the Wall Street Journal. The strike also caused smoke contamination inside the building, per Fox News.
No injuries have been reported and embassy staffers have been directed to shelter in place.
The strike marks the latest attack on U.S. embassies and consulates in the Middle East amid conflict in the region. The U.S. Embassy in Dubai was also hit by an unmanned aircraft Tuesday, but no injuries were reported.
