CENTCOM confirms 6 U.S. troops killed, 18 wounded as Iranian strike hits American Operations Center
United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that six American service members were killed and at least 18 others seriously wounded during U.S. military operations against Iran.
The fatalities were announced in stages, with three initially reported dead, a fourth later dying from injuries, and two previously unaccounted-for troops recovered from a facility struck during Iran’s initial attacks.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said an Iranian weapon penetrated air defenses and hit a fortified U.S. tactical operations center, reportedly in Kuwait.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that “the hardest hits are yet to come,” signaling additional U.S. strikes and a more punishing next phase of military action.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine said operations will continue globally, while Rubio confirmed there are currently no formal diplomatic talks with Iran, despite outreach attempts through intermediaries.
