Education Department hangs Charlie Kirk banner outside HQ

The Department of Education this week hung a banner of Charlie Kirk outside of its headquarters, along with banners honoring Catharine Beecher and Booker T. Washington.The displays are part of the America 250 celebrations and a fourth banner reads “Empowering our States to tell the Stories of our Heroes in American Education,” The Hill reported.
“We are proud to honor visionary leaders whose contributions have shaped the future of education for generations. Their work reflects Benjamin Franklin’s timeless belief that ‘an investment in knowledge pays the best interest,” Education Department spokeswoman Savannah Newhouse said in a statement.
Kirk was assassinated in late September during an open-air event at Utah Valley University. His alleged killer, Tyler Robinson, faces the death penalty, if convicted.
