A so-called U.S. academic and TikTok commentator who posts as “Nope Brigade” went viral after announcing she had fled Los Angeles for Vancouver, Canada, because she feared a second Trump administration and what she described in earlier videos as the “building blocks to genocide” in the United States.
In those prior clips, the cringe sociology PhD candidate, who “researches” the far right and Christian nationalism, compared Trump’s immigration rhetoric to historical genocides and said she felt compelled to leave when he returned to office.
Once in British Columbia on a visitor visa, she told followers she was “a scholar of the far right who has fled the United States to Canada” and was now surviving on limited savings because she and her partner are legally barred from working.
