In a breaking release from the Department of Justice (DOJ), U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller of the Western District of Louisiana highlighted seven recent federal cases involving threats, assaults, or interference with law enforcement, public officials, and the judicial process.
Cases include Justin Chadwick Butler’s social media threats against Speaker Mike Johnson and President Trump; Avieyle Moore’s guilty plea for mailing a fake fentanyl-laced threat to the Supreme Court; Alex Taylor Fontenot’s indictment for threatening ICE agents; Maximiliano Perez-Perez’s detention for biting an ICE officer; and Micah James Legnon’s charges for threatening ICE officers while armed.
