    Norwegian cross-country skiing star Johannes Høsflot Klæbo has etched his name into Olympic history with a record-breaking ninth gold medal at the 2026 Winter Games in Milan-Cortina.The 29-year-old anchored the men’s 4×7.5 km relay on Sunday, powering Norway to victory and securing his fourth gold of these Games. 
    Klæbo has surpassed the previous Winter Olympics gold-medal mark to stand alone atop the sport’s all-time list.
    Klæbo delivered a commanding performance in the anchor leg, extending Norway’s lead to finish strongly in 1 hour, 4 minutes and 24.5 seconds. He had a chance to slow down near the finish line to acknowledge cheering fans. 
    France took silver, trailing by 22.2 seconds, while Italy’s Federico Pellegrino, in his final Olympic season, earned bronze to the delight of the home crowd.
    The United States team crossed the line sixth, following strong showings from Finland and Canada.
