“You Brought Christmas to Farmers”: Farmer Thanks President Trump for Saving Christmas for America’s Farmers [WATCH]

A touching clip shows a farmer explaining that his son would prefer to meet President Trump to Santa, and credits Trump’s $12 billion bridge payment program for saving their farm. Likewise, other influential figures in agriculture, such as NFU President Rob Larew, congratulated Trump and urged collaboration on challenges, including high costs, disasters, and a stalled Farm Bill to support sustainable rural economies.
Providing more context, USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins blasted Biden’s legacy of inflation, deficits, and lost markets, announcing the payments as immediate relief. The program, targeting row crops, ensures planting continuity and emphasizes self-reliance over handouts.
In the heartwarming clip, the farmer noted, “The other day, I was reading my little boy a story at night, putting him to bed, and he said, ‘Daddy, I don’t want Santa Claus to come to our house for Christmas. I want President Trump.’ And I think Mr. Trump,…you brought Christmas to farmers with this bridge payment, we’ll be able to farm another year.”
. This is far from the first supportive statement made by the National Farmers Union (NFU) President, Rob Larew, who reacted to the president’s victory in 2024 by saying, “On behalf of National Farmers Union, I offer my congratulations to President-elect Trump. This transition to a new administration comes at a pivotal time for agriculture and rural America. At NFU, we believe that strong support for family farmers and ranchers is essential for vibrant rural communities and resilient economies.
Continuing his comments, he declared. “Across the nation, family farmers and ranchers are grappling with unprecedented challenges, from escalating input costs and severe weather disasters to the absence of a renewed five-year Farm Bill. We see both urgency and opportunity to address these issues with long-term solutions that ensure fair and competitive markets, sustainability, and economic vitality in our communities.
Wrapping up his statement, Larew said. “We share a commitment to meaningful progress for agriculture and rural America. National Farmers Union, the nation’s second-largest general farm organization, represents more than 230,000 family farmers and ranchers. We stand ready to work with the incoming administration to build a future where agriculture can thrive, our food systems are resilient, and rural communities are supported.”
Offering a valuable insight into the administration’s plan, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins slammed the Biden administration. “Four years under the failed Biden Administration continue[d] to leave the American farm economy reeling from record inflation, a depleted farm safety net, and delayed disaster assistance. The lack of new trade deals under the last Administration turned a trade surplus under Trump into a $50 billion trade deficit, causing our farmers to lose markets and feel acute pain from lower commodity prices,” she explained.
