Speaking during an interview with Miranda Devine, Vice President JD Vance commented on how it is socially deleterious for American communities to be flooded with immigrants who cannot speak the English language, noting that it is common and reasonable for people who want neighbors who are like them in at least some ways.
Doing so, the vice president told Devine during the interview that, in his view, it is “totally reasonable and acceptable for American citizens to look at their next door neighbors and say ‘I want to live next to people who I have something in common with.’”
Continuing, he noted the issue of American homes being overtaken by huge gaggles of 10 or 20 foreigners who do not speak English, with that group replacing an English-speaking family that might have been neighbors to which Americans would be more accustomed. He said, “They don’t speak the same language that I do, and because there are 20 in the house next door, it’s a little bit rowdier.”
In response to VP Vance’s very reasonable comments, Spencer Hakimian, a leftist podcast host and financial professional, took that clip of the interview and made up a totally fake quote from it, posting the clip and captioning it by saying, “JD Vance: ‘It’s totally reasonable to not want neighbors who speak another language.’”
The vice president pulled no punches in his epic reply after catching the leftist in a total lie. Sounding off on him with a vengeance, VP Vance began by noting that the quote Hakimian had tried using as a gotcha was a total fabrication, saying, “First of all, it’s just a made up quote. Completely dishonest.”
Continuing, the vice president noted that, even if the quote were real, it would be totally reasonable, as wanting neighbors with whom one can talk and have basic interactions is far from crazy. Making that point, he said, “Second, what’s reasonable is to want to share a language with your neighbor. How do you borrow a cup of sugar? Resolve disagreements? Have a nice conversation? You need a common language, and in America, that language is English.”
Finally, VP Vance noted that the radical left has gotten so deranged and ridiculous that it is attacking conservatives over absurd things, such as thinking that being able to talk to one’s neighbors is a good thing. He said, “The far left became so deranged on immigration that they’re attacking people for wanting to be able to speak to their neighbors.”
