Influential organizations such as Americans For Prosperity and Club for Growth are supporting an alternative to Trump. With the Iowa Caucus approaching, party insiders are pressing to find a solution soon. In 2016, Republicans had similar concerns about Trump, but he went on to win the nomination and the election while Republicans maintained control of the House and Senate. However, this time, many Republicans do not believe Trump can repeat his success due to his ongoing grievances and the recent defeat of his favored candidates in the midterms.
