Judicial Watch on Monday announced that it filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the Department of Justice over FBI records regarding the Arctic Frost probe into President Trump. The investigation, which opened in April 2022, was part of the Biden administration’s effort to prosecute and jail Trump for questioning the results of the 2020 presidential election.
On Jan. 20, Judicial Watch filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia after the FBI failed to respond to a FOIA request from October for the Washington Field Office’s Public Corruption Unit investigative reports on Operation Arctic Frost, DOJ approvals for investigative steps or techniques, and communications with former special counsel Jack Smith’s office, according ot the watchdog group.
“Judicial Watch is fighting for a full account of how the Biden team weaponized the full weight of the federal government to target their political foes,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.
