Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is defending White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller from disgruntled Republicans frustrated with the administration’s handling of immigration enforcement in Minneapolis.”I want everybody to know on the Republican side that Stephen Miller is not the problem. Sanctuary cities is the problem [sic],” Graham told Fox News.
Miller, widely regarded as the chief ideological proponent of mass deportations in the administration, has attracted scrutiny over his response to the death of Alexi Pretti, whom Border Patrol agents shot over the weekend during a physical altercation.
The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that the agents involved in the fatal incident have been placed on leave amid the investigation into Pretti’s death.
