President Donald Trump on Wednesday celebrated the S&P 500 crossing 7,000 for the first time in its history, marking a major milestone that also potentially signals improving economic conditions in the U.S.The S&P 500 is one of the major indices analysts use to measure the strength of the stock market, along with the NASDAQ and the DOW Jones Industrial Average.
“The S&P 500 just hit 7000 for the FIRST TIME EVER. AMERICA IS BACK!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
The metric briefly cleared the 7,000 mark on Wednesday, but was below 7,000 again by press time. The development, nonetheless, does mark the all-time high.
Trump has traditionally pointed toi favorable stock market developments as evidence of the success of his policies.
