Nashville Hall of Fame singer-songwriter Jeffrey Steele explained to Breitbart News Daily host Mike Slater on Monday how he defied country music industry insiders who encouraged him to change the lyrics in his new hit song “A Voice,” insisting that they could help him push the song on radio and into the mainstream if he changed the section honoring assassinated conservative icon Charlie Kirk.
“When I first started playing the song, the first thing, there’s a line in it about Charlie Kirk,” Steele told Slater, referring to the lyrics “The Charlie Kirk choir all lighting our lighters, finally waking up.”
