White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller claimed Thursday that Minnesota officials are “clearly” staging “an insurgency against the federal government” through their rhetoric over federal immigration operations in Minneapolis.Protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations have surged in Minneapolis over the past week, after an ICE agent fatally shot a woman who allegedly rammed the agent with her car. Minnesota officials argue that the shooting was unjustified, while federal officials counter that the agent acted in self-defense.
Also, the FBI announced Thursday that it is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information that leads to the recovery of stolen government property in Minneapolis, or the arrest of the people involved.
The bureau said several of its vehicles were broken into on Wednesday while agents were responding to an assault on a federal immigration official, who was allegedly ambushed and beaten by three illegal migrants.
