    Vice President J.D. Vance criticized media coverage during a January 8, 2026 press conference, accusing outlets of misrepresenting an attack on federal law enforcement in Minneapolis.     Vance emphasized that he was calling the incident an attack. “This was an attack on federal law enforcement. This was an attack on law and order. This was an attack on the American people,” he said. The media’s handling of the story had been “an absolute disgrace” and such reporting puts law enforcement officers at risk.
