The concept of yin and yang originated thousands of years ago in China, which seems appropriate for some of what I want to talk about. Originally, yang was a reference to “the sunny side of the hill” which is why it’s white in the famous yin and yang symbol. Yin was the “shady side” of the hill which is why it’s black in the symbol.
