In the decade before Charlie Kirk’s assassination, violent against conservatives on campus became normalized. Conservative speakers were met with bomb threats and physical assaults.
Surveys showed significant numbers of college students supported using violence to shut down speech they didn’t like. This wasn’t just the behavior of rogues like Tyler Robinson or Luigi Mangione, but an entire subculture based around departments with faculty advisers that had been allowed to hijack campuses, terrorize faculty members and students who didn’t go along, and fund their operations with student fees.
