President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, took a verbal sledgehammer to New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul for trying to place “guardrails” around former New York City Mayor Eric Adams that made it difficult for him to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents when trying to clean up the streets by detaining and deporting illegal aliens. He also spent time advocating for state-level legislation from the GOP that would result in strengthened immigration enforcement.
Protesters in the city and all across the state, however, have been calling for new laws to be passed that would expand protections for illegal aliens in New York. Homan ripped apart the state’s sanctuary policies, targeting specifically the Green Light Law that allows illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses and keeps federal authorities from accessing records from the Department of Motor Vehicles.
