Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot feuded with U.S. Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino on X ominously commenting that his “day of reckoning is fast approaching,” and labeling him a “glory hound” and claiming his agents’ actions are “unconstitutional and shameful.”
Kikcing off the interaction, Bovino had posted a video montage asserting federal agents would remain in Chicago “for years” to target criminal illegal aliens, despite local opposition. Jumping into the fight, Current Mayor Brandon Johnson endorsed naming a city snowplow “Abolish ICE,” prompting Bovino to suggest “Reality Check” instead. Johnson responded by correcting Bovino’s grammar and noting Chicagoans’ desire for agents to leave.
