One killed, 89 injured when two trains collide in Britain

One person was killed and 89 others were injured Friday when two British passenger trains collided north of London, officials said.The crash in Bedford, England, drew a massive emergency response and the cause was not immediately released.
The one victim who was killed was a railroad engineer for one of the trains, Eddie Dempsey, general secretary of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers, said.
Officials said 11 people suffered very serious injuries, 22 had serious injuries and 56 people walked away with minor injuries.
“I am being kept updated on the collision of two trains between Luton and Bedford,” Health and Social Care Secretary James Murray wrote on X. “A number of people have been injured and I thank first responders who are helping those affected.”
