Israel and terrorist group Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire on Friday, following an escalation of fire overnight in Lebanon, a U.S. official told The Epoch Times. The ceasefire was reached following mediation efforts by the United States and Qatar. Secretary of State Marco Rubio reaffirmed the United States’ support for the government of Lebanon’s efforts to strengthen its sovereignty and maintain peaceful relations with all its neighbors, in a call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, according to U.S. spokesperson Tommy Pigott.
Cuba agrees to implement its largest policy reform since 1959. The Communist Party votes to approve major economic changes, opening key economic sectors such as banking, tourism, and agriculture to attract both Cuban and foreign investment.
