Robert Kuzovkov, a 44-year-old Russian artist who built a second life in exile skewering Vladimir Putin with satirical caricatures, was shot and killed at close range near his home in eastern Poland. Two Belarusian nationals were arrested in the aftermath. The shooting took place in Biała Podlaska, a small town roughly 25 miles from the Belarusian border, where Kuzovkov had lived since fleeing Russia in 2021. He had been granted asylum there. Breitbart News reported that an unidentified gunman approached Kuzovkov, fired two shots from a handgun, waited for him to fall, then moved closer and fired three more times before fleeing.
