Order Robert Spencer’s new book, The Tragedy of Islam: Failure and Excuses: HERE.After he massacred the Jews of Khaybar, Muhammad further ordered that one of the newly enslaved women, Zaynab bint al-Harith, cook him dinner. According to Islamic tradition, she poisoned his food, but Muhammad was able to discern that it was poisoned before he had eaten too much of it.
Zaynab explained: “You know what you have done to my people.” Islamic tradition disagrees about whether Muhammad had her put to death or showed her mercy and allowed her to live. In any case, the effects of this poisoning lingered; on his deathbed, Muhammad is depicted as saying that the pain he was feeling stemmed from what he had eaten at Khaybar. Thus, Islamic tradition charges the Jews with killing Muhammad, just as some Christians charge the Jews with killing Jesus.
