    Evette, Wilson advance to runoff in SC GOP primary: AP

    South Carolina Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette and state Attorney General Alan Wilson are projected to advance to a runoff in the South Carolina Republican primary for governor on Tuesday evening.The Associated Press called the race for person at 9:04 p.m., with 54% of precincts reporting.
    The crowded primary field included state Attorney General Alan Wilson, Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, Rom Reddy, and Reps. Nancy Mace and Ralph Norman.
    As of press time, Evette led with 29.2% of the vote to Wilson’s 26.4%. Norman placed third with 16.5%, while Reddy took 15.0% and Mace took 11.4%.
    President Donald Trump endorsed Evette in late May.
