Trump took to social media Tuesday to lash out against CBS late-night host Stephen Colbert and call for the television networks to lose their broadcast license. “Stephen Colbert is a pathetic trainwreck, with no talent or anything else necessary for show business success,” Trump said in the post on TRUTH Social.
Trump went on to say that after Colbert’s show was canceled by CBS, the host has “actually gotten worse, along with nonexistent ratings.”
“A dead man walking! CBS should, ‘put him to sleep,’ NOW, it is the humanitarian thing to do!” Trump wrote.
Later, Trump wrote in a separate post that CBS, NBC and ABC all have the worst late-night hosts who share in common “High Salaries, No Talent, REALLY LOW RATINGS.”
The president followed up that post with another Tuesday that said that if the networks’ newscasts are “100% Negative to President Donald J. Trump, MAGA, and the Republican Party,” they should have their broadcast licenses terminated.
CBS News announced in July that it was canceling Colbert’s late-night show for “purely financial reasons.”
